Welcome

Welcome to the JRB art blog! If you are a parent, I hope seeing what we are creating in class will help you discuss your child's artwork with them!
If you are another art teacher, feedback is welcome! Whoever you are, please leave a comment!

Happy 2013!

My new year's resolution this year is to start making more blog posts! Life in the art room has been busy, and I've even been packing up for the new school when I get a chance. We have recently finished our unit on texture and will now be entering into the realm of space and movement.

Here are some images from our TEXTURE unit:

Kindergarten Giraffes inspired by Giraffes Can't Dance

Cupcakes inspired by Wayne Thiebaud, and hedgehogs inspired by Jan Brett's The Mitten
-- created by the first grade

Clay coil animals created by the second grade; students read about spirals in nature and created them.

Third and fourth graders created snowman masks from Sculptamold. They were so fun and creative!

Fifth graders created clay candle houses and added texture. Finished product pictures coming soon!
